PULSE Supports Texas Wildfire Relief Efforts
PULSE donates $15,000 to the American Red Cross; employees contribute supplies
HOUSTON, TX – Oct 3, 2011 — In response to the devastation caused by recent wildfires in Texas, PULSE has launched a company-wide effort to support those who have been impacted. The company has donated $15,000 to the American Red Cross of Central Texas, and employees have begun collecting supplies to benefit local relief efforts.
As a Houston-based company, PULSE employees have been particularly moved by the effects of the fires upon residents of the nearby tri-county area, made up by Montgomery, Waller and Grimes counties. Reports indicate more than 41,000 acres have been scorched and at least 1,700 homes have been destroyed in the tri-county area and Central Texas since the beginning of September.
"These fires have taken an emotional and physical toll on many families and PULSE has created a way for our employees to assist those in need," said Cindy Ballard, Executive Vice President of Communications and Marketing, PULSE.
As residents are allowed back into their neighborhoods, the contribution from PULSE will be used for cleaning supplies as well as water, food and personal comfort kits to assist victims recovering from the wildfires. Non-perishable food donations from PULSE employees will benefit the Montgomery County Food Bank.
